Taste operates a fast-casual restaurant based around the Portuguese specialty of fresh flame-grilled chicken and wholesome fresh salads. Taste commenced operations in 2004 on King Street, Newtown, one of Sydney’s most colourful and eclectic streets.
Taste is owned and operated by Marc Gorin who has over 20 years experience in hospitality, catering and food service in South Africa and Australia.
Philosophy – It’s all about the experience
Taste has been built on customer service as its number 1 priority. It is of utmost importance that every customer is greeted when they enter the store, that they are served immediately and that when they leave, they will remember their experience at Taste with a smile on their face. There is a firm belief that all staff enjoy the work that they do and that they put their customers first. If they don’t want to be there, the customers will sense it and that is not the experience they came for.

It is imperative that Taste provides excellent quality food that is always fresh and delicious. Anything served at Taste must adhere to the highest food standards available; the harshest critics – the staff and the customers – must be satisfied with their food experience 100% of the time.
The salads at Taste are made daily from the freshest ingredients flavoured with a taste of Thai. There is a salad for everyone whether you are a vegetarian or meat lover. From wonton salads, tofu and avocado to gnocchi and ravioli – these are just some of what Taste has to offer.
The chickens are grain fed, chemical and cage free and are bursting with flavours such as Teriyaki, Greek, Sweet or Hot Chilli Sauces.

Taste is currently serving over 300 Customers a day during the week, and over 400 on the weekend.
